Principals as the leaders of literacy and numeracy guide teaching practice and strategic resource allocation. Principals maintain a focus on the literacy and numeracy learning and growth of all students in their school.
The structural and pedagogical changes that occur in the school requires principals to serve as instructional leaders in their schools and within a broader professional learning community of administrators. To acquire a deep understanding of effective literacy practices in classrooms, they must actively learn and connect to the learning of their staff and students.
